My friend Karen is going through chemo prior to a double mastectomy for breast cancer - do regular check, ladies - and she asked me to take a cast of her boobs as a memorial to 'her girls', because I teach a class in mask-making using plaster bandages. This is a photo of the end result.

I took the cast using the bandages, then applied a layer of premixed stucco, which I then sanded. On top of that went a layer of grey primer (sandable), which I sanded with fine paper, followed by four layers of black lacquer. The tribal mark was airbrushed, while the triskele and hieroglyphs etc. were hand painted, and the whole thing was coated in two coats of varnish.

The hieroglyphs are Ankh, Utah, Seneb, which means "life, strength, health", over the symbol for eternity. The blue rose on a stang with crossed arrows is an old Craft emblem.
